Yo! We’re back again to introduce another character to the ever-expanding Rival Megagun universe! Today, we’re discussing Ruby, a real gem. A true blue hero. Or red hero. Y’know, since rubies are red. (cough) I’ll be here all week.

Ruby is one half of the dynamic duo Ruby and Buddy 2.0, Buddy 2.0 being another character in the roster we’ll be discuss later. All you need to know right now is that Ruby loves his robot friend and will do anything for him. Well, almost anything.

Ruby’s cocky smirk betrays his fighting style - it’s all about style and savviness. His ship, the STAR Volta, is a mechanical beast, blasting Harvesters with wide machine gun bursts and unleashing a devastating special, the Quick Rocket. Just as your opponent is getting complacent, hit that special attack button and watch their screen get showered in rockets. It’s going to take some Sisyphysian determination to survive that.

Now, the showstopper. Ruby’s Mega Gunship - the Tempest Blade. The Tempest Blade uses the power of lightning and electricity to dish out the pain. Its regular attacks are rather unique: the standard bullets are unpredictable, and it fires energy balls that orbit the screen in difficult patterns. But its true power comes from within. Controlled by the player, the Tempest Blade’s ultimate attack is surging currents of electricity that fill the screen. Combined with the unpredictable nature of the Mega Gunship’s bullets, only the truly skilled will defeat it unscathed. I bet you expected me to say that something was “shocking,” right? Take the opportunity for easy puns? Not today, ohm-bre.
